Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Community Development Manager to join our dynamic Donor Relations & Field Operations team. 

 

The Donor Relations & Field Operations team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by generating and identifying leads, building a pipeline of potential donors, building relationships, and ensuring the growth and maintenance of a high quality, committed donor base.  In this role you will also be responsible for community engagement and maintaining a good public image for the donation centres to ensure there is ongoing public support.

Formula for success

  • Drawing on your sales experience you will actively manage and develop the current sales pipeline by identifying potential opportunities for further engagement, conducting regular follow-ups, and nurturing relationships with existing partners.
  • You will be responsible for developing a strategic account plan with your partner to grow and enhance donor engagement and retention.
  • Execute national integrated recruitment plans to achieve donor base growth and retention.
  • Works closely with the Business Development Manager, Development Team and Integrated Marketing Team to identify new opportunities and areas for improvement with current relationships.
  • Monitor account performance, analyze metrics and provide partners and provide partners and internal stakeholders with regular insights.
  • Organizes and executes partner events to nurture relationships with targeted groups and organizations. 
  • Develops and maintains positive and collaborative working relationships with other leaders across the organization, and specifically with the Integrated Supply Chain within the Region.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate partner life cycle. 
     

Desired education and skills

  • 2 years post-secondary education within a relevant discipline, preference in marketing and business programs, and degree preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in sales, account or relationship management.
  • A combination of education, training and experience may be considered. 
  • Proficiency with CRM software and other sales tools, as well as general computer skills (MS Suite). 
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills; comfortable public speaking to various sizes of audiences.
  • Solid background in the successful management and delivery of multifaceted projects.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license is required.

  • Flexible work schedule is required as events occur during the day, in the evening, and on weekends, sometimes on short notice.  
  • Must be physically able to complete job duties which includes: lifting up to 50 lbs, loading/unloading vehicle, setting up venue, long periods of travelling, and standing and/or sitting.
