Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site preferably at 100 Parkshore Dr, Brampton ON and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

About The Role:
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a regular full-time Associate Director, Supply Chain Transformation to join our dynamic Supply Chain Strategy & Integration team. The work of an Associate Director, Supply Chain Transformation is integral to Canadian Blood Services role as Canada’s Lifeline.
The Associate Director, Supply Chain Transformation is responsible leading the operationalization of the strategy and roadmap for CBS’s Supply Chain network. This role collaborates with stakeholders to assess current processes, technology and infrastructure ensuring long term-strategic alignment with collections objectives and surge capacity requirements. They are a change agent responsible for the pursuit of an integrated, well-defined, process-based network across all locations.
Furthermore, the Associate Director acts as a conduit between the various Supply Chain teams and Collections to identify standardization opportunities, guiding a holistic, systemic growth in capacity capabilities. Additionally, the Associate Director works closely with the Supply Chain and Collections Directors to implement these changes and ensure their success. This individual will be a critical resource catalyzing strategy implementation and enabling scalability in future years.
Formula for success:
- Acts as a strategic lead and partner for the supply chain network by developing a long-term roadmap, integrating industry best practices, and managing the change processes necessary to enhance capacity and operational delivery.
- Evaluates and optimizes network capabilities by reviewing infrastructure, collaborating with stakeholders to propose strategic process improvements, and managing the resources, risks, and issue resolutions necessary to align operations with organizational priorities.
- Partners with Supply Chain Leadership to establish operational standards and regulatory roadmaps, ensuring all facilities maintain compliance with Health Canada requirements and internal benchmarks.
- Manages high-level communication and reporting by developing strategic content for senior leadership and steering committees, coordinating across departments, and escalating critical updates regarding project scope, budget, and risks.
- Liaises with regional supply chain, collections, and donor engagement teams to drive process efficiency, optimize facility equipment, and ensure cross-functional strategic alignment.
- Provides high-impact leadership by defining clear accountabilities, delegating tasks based on individual expertise, and mentoring direct reports to achieve peak performance and professional growth.
Desired education & skills:
- Post-secondary level education from a recognized academic institution. Master’s degree in a health-related or business discipline is an asset.
- A minimum of 7 years of recent related management experience.
- Senior level operational improvement and implementation experience including accountability for budgets and items.
- Demonstrated knowledge of logistics, warehousing, distribution, production and supply chain management.
- P.Log or CSCP designation considered an asset.
- Experience in a Health Canada regulated biologics manufacturing industry is an asset.
- Certifications or training in leadership & management, finance, accounting, space management, continuous improvement, security, QMS, radition & biosafety, temperature monitoring of regulated environments or environmental sustainabilbity are considered assets.
- Ability to understand and incorporate corporate culture, process, governance, politics,strategies and stakeholder requirements into plans and projects.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to interpret business needs and develop creative solutions.
- Must be results-driven, able to create change and effectively manage and deliver results.
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders from multiple organizations and to provide strategic guidance in a collaborative, consultative and positive manner.
- Sound management skills, proven effective leadership, and interpersonal and communications skills.

What You Can Expect
- This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location at least 40% of the time/2 days of the week.
- You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours a day.
