About the role


Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Field Service Representative I to join our dynamic Process Management team. 

 

The Process Management team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by providing technical support in various aspects of biomedical engineering.  In this entry level role, you will be responsible for installations, maintenance, and repairs of various portable and some stationary equipment.

Formula for success

 

  • Leveraging your excellent customer service skills, you will assist with the coordination of internal and external resources as necessary to implement the equipment program.
  • Drawing on your passion for continuous improvement, you will propose program and process enhancement recommendations to your direct Supervisor.
  • Utilizing your technical and computer skills, you will maintain records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System and personal training documentation.
  • You will principally be servicing portable equipment, some fixed equipment and performing service document management.  Ad hoc repairs as directed.

Desired education and skills

 

  • Completion of secondary education in Biomedical Electronics Technology  or a related Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical Technology field at the technician or technologist level.
  • Knowledge of biomedical safety and electrical safety codes and their application is an asset.
  • Effective Communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with internal and external customers.
  • We highly value candidates with a strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), as it plays a crucial role in maintaining quality standards and fostering a culture of excellence in production.

What you can expect

 

  • Shift/hours - Monday to Friday 8:00 - 16:00.
  • Travel requirements - majority in house work.  Minimal travel will be required to Calgary Clinic and transportation will be provided by Canadian Blood Services.
  • Physical requirements - ability to lift weight up to 50 lbs.
