About the role
In this role, you will act as a coach and resource to Donor Centre staff performing donor eligibility screening and clinic situations. You will manage the consultation process and contribute to a continuous quality improvement environment on Donor Centres.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provides guidance to clinic staff performing donor screening as per the consultation process
- Promotes and supports knowledge transfer and progressive learning and development
- Assists with and/or resolves donor screening situations when consulted by clinic staff
- Performs activities as assigned by the Clinic Supervisor/Charge Nurse
- Acts as a role model in the delivery of customer service excellence
Requirements:
- Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) and currently registered, or eligible for registration, with CRNA
- A minimum of three years of related experience is considered an asset
- Previous experience in a regulated blood collection environment
- Experience in a continuous quality improvement environment would be an asset
- Experience in preceptor and/or coaching others to enhance job performance is also considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, the ability to communicate with and provide excellent customer service to a diverse donor base
- The ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with other clinic services staff, management, and volunteers
- Having a working knowledge of personal computers is desirable
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered
