About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic Collections Operations Ont team in Hamilton, ON.
The Collections Operations Ont team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by collecting plasma in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative and coordination support by managing communications, documentation, reporting, meeting logistics, and employee engagement activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations for the leadership team.
Formula for success
- Prepares a variety of correspondence and documents related to key performance indicator reports.
- Monitors incoming and outgoing communications.
- Participates in the development of employee engagement events.
- Makes arrangements for meetings and travel.
- Records, produces and follows up on meeting minutes, agendas and action items.
- Establishes and maintains filing systems.
- Completes expense reports for leaderships.
- Performs other administrative duties as required.
Desired education and skills
- Completion of a post-secondary school program, in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably one year in Office Administration.
- Minimum two years administrative assistant experience.
- Excellent communication skills including grammar and punctuation.
- Superior multi-tasking skills required.
- Excellent administrative skills including typing, filing, and recording skills essential.
- Ability to work as a team and independently.
- Detail-oriented and capable of working in a highly regulated environment.
- Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, and scanning skills required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
