About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary Full-time Accounts Payable Administrator to join our dynamic Financial Reporting & Services team.
The Financial Reporting & Services team ensures accurate reporting, efficient payment responsible fund management to support strategic decisions and operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing accounting and administrative support to the Manager and staff within the Corporate Accounting Department.
Formula for success
- Leveraging your skills in vendor management, you will be responsible for managing all assigned vendors using SAP software to maximize efficiencies in processing invoices. This includes but is not limited to the following functions: verify, optimize, workflow, webcycle, manual postings as required by day to day requirements.
- Applying your skills in policy compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Canadian Blood Services policies pertaining to purchasing of goods and services are complied with. This may require contact with various Canadian Blood Services cost centre managers, and other staff to ensure the resolution of issues. This includes the management of the assigned worklist on a daily basis in order to maximize the discounts taken on invoices processed.
- Utilizing your skills in account reconciliation, you will ensure that all assigned vendor accounts are reconciled monthly and at year end.
- Drawing on your skills in software operations, you will be responsible for other assigned duties that may include using other software programs related to A/P, travel and expense management, fttndraising, OneMatch or on-line banking. This may also include auditing of expense claims for compliance to Canadian Blood Services policies.
- Relying on your skills in workplace safety, you will perform work in accordance with the provisions of the Canadian Blood Services' Corporate Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Other duties as required.
Desired education and skills
- Post secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in accounting.
- Minimum three years related experience in a computerized accounting environment mandatory.
- SAP and Readsoft experience is required.
- Skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Lotus Notes at an intermediate level are essential.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal are required.
- Excellent organizational skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to work with limited direction.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Excellent customer service attitude and ability.
