Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Analyst - Strategy to join our dynamic Strategy Management team. 

 

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Analyst - Strategy to join our dynamic Strategy Management Team in our People Culture & Performance Division.

The Strategy Management Team  is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by facilitating the creation and publication of strategic plans, the reporting against those plans and the management of relationships with our international blood operator partners.

In this role you will support the corporate strategy team with international collaboration, strategic foresight, and corporate performance reporting, in addition to other projects/assignments as required.

Formula for success

 

  • Utilizing your superior interpersonal and collaborative skills you will be responsible for supporting international collaboration and knowledge sharing with the Alliance of Blood Operators (ABO).
  • Leveraging your strong analytical skills, you will support the creation of the annual ABO benchmarking report by working with internal stakeholders to facilitate data and commentary gathering and ensure accuracy of the final report.
  • You will be responsible for facilitating, tracking, and managing international knowledge exchange requests.
  • Harnessing your excellent communication skills and adherence to timelines, you will ensure timely and relevant communications about Canadian Blood Services' international collaboration efforst to leaders and all staff (eg. newsletters, webinars, intranet articles, etc.).
  • You will be responsible for supporting the planning, development, management, execution, and maturation of the strategic foresight function and supporting capabilities, including establishing a standard framework to guide foresight projects.
  • Drawing from your superb organizational skills, you will collect, monitor, and aggregate key trends and developments that could impact Canadian Blood Services and meaningfully communicate this information to internal stakeholders.
  • You will support the preperation and management of the annual Canadian Blood Services horizon scan.
  • Using your  thorough attention to detail, you will support the creation of the Quarterly Strategy Review Report, Quarterly Performance Report for the Board, and other corporate performance reporting (key messages) to ensure aligment and consistency.
  • You will support the administration of ClearPoint (strategy management software) and various other reports as required.
  • You will build relationships with key subject matter experts and influencers across various departments, meanwhile working with internal stakeholders to provide timely content for strategic and operational reports for the Executive Business Review.
     

Desired education and skills

 

  • Completion of a University degree in a relevant discipline, from a recognized academic institution. A Master's degree would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in strategy, planning, and/or foresight activities (e.g. horizon scanning) will be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience working withh diverse stakeholders and influencing senior leaders to achieve a common goal.
  • Highly motivated and self-managed with the ability to balance multiple priorities and multiple customer needs.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

What you can expect

 

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40 % of the time/ 2 days of the week.
  • Shift/hours - Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
  • Travel requirement - occasional travel to Ottawa, Brampton and Calgary for group meetings, executive business review, and as required.
