Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. About The Role: 
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a regular full-time Associate Director, Business Performance and Integration to join our dynamic Enterprise Facilities team.  The work of an Associate Director, Business Performance and Integration is integral to Canadian Blood Services role as Canada’s Lifeline. 
 
Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Facilities, this role leads business analysis and KPI development to drive performance-based decision-making. The position is responsible for overseeing enterprise space planning and utilization while providing operations & maintenance leadership to ensure uninterrupted service delivery. Additionally, the role manages physical security planning, environmental sustainability initiatives, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that facilities operations remain resilient and aligned with long-term organizational goals. 

This role works collaboratively with Facilities leadership, Quality & Regulatory Affairs and Finance and other divisions to optimize facility performance and ensure seamless delivery of services that support CBS’s operational needs.

 
Formula for success:    

  • Drive operational and fiscal excellence by leading the design of performance frameworks, tracking and managing capital and operating budgets, and leveraging data analytics and technology (CMMS/SAP) to optimize asset reliability, contract value, and strategic business planning.
  • Direct enterprise-wide space management and hybrid work strategies by utilizing occupancy analytics, scenario modeling, and CAFM/IWMS data integrity to optimize utilization, lead complex relocations, and ensure alignment between physical workspace standards and long-term organizational priorities.
  • Cultivate a high-performing, inclusive Facilities culture by providing leadership and mentorship, fostering accountability and psychological safety, and driving continuous professional growth to ensure team alignment with organizational values and service excellence.
  • Ensure operational continuity and resilience by serving as the designated acting lead for Facilities Operations & Maintenance, maintaining oversight of critical contracts and risk mitigation strategies, and collaborating with leadership to resolve complex regulatory compliance matters across security, sustainability, and quality standards.
  • Advance organizational stewardship by overseeing facility regulatory compliance, leading physical security planning to mitigate risk, and driving environmental sustainability initiatives to align operational practices with corporate social responsibility goals.

 
Desired education & skills: 

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Architecture, or related field required.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in facilities management, operations, business performance, space management, process design, quality management, continuous improvement, ideally within a complex, multi-site environment.
  • Experience leading a team in a management role.
  • Proven expertise reporting on financials, business analysis, financial planning, KPI development, and performance reporting.
  • Experience with space management, facility management, maintenance, and quality programs (GMP experience is an asset).
  • Experience with space planning, occupancy management, or IWMS/CAFM systems (e.g. SAP).
  • IFMA FMP or CFM, or BOMA certification.
  • ARIDO and/or NCIDQ credentials related to space management and interior environments.
  • PMP or equivalent project leadership certification.
  • Certification in Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, or change management are considered and asset.
  • Certifications or training in leadership & management, finance, accounting, space management, continuous improvement, security, QMS, radition & biosafety, temperature monitoring of regulated environments or environmental sustainabilbity are considered assets.

What You Can Expect

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location at least 40% of the time/2 days of the week.
  • You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours a day.
