About this role:
Canadian Blood Services (CBS) is looking for a Regular Full time, Associate Director, Supply Chain Operations East to join our dynamic Supply Chain team.
The Associate Director, Supply Chain Operations, oversee the effective operations of the transport, warehousing, production, and distribution operations in their assigned region, providing clear direction and expectations to the supply chain management team to meet overall regional plans and corporate objectives. This position contributes to the planning, development, implementation, support, and evolution, of the supply chain operations, while driving continuous improvement of regional operations, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, CBS policies, procedures and practices.
The Associate Director, Supply Chain Operations is also responsible to ensure that the regions are appropriately resourced, and organized through plans and structures, and has all required capabilities to deliver upon operational requirements.

- Using your strong leadership skills, effectively translate corporate strategy into operational execution, fostering a collaborative environment while empowering management teams. You excel at stakeholder communication, proactively manage risks, and contribute to regional supply chain planning, ultimately ensuring the efficient and resilient operation of the supply chain within their designated region.
- Working closely with the Director, Supply Chain Operations and the Operational excellence team, you focus on regional supply chain efficiency and experience, developing improvement strategies, enhancing donor and employee satisfaction, leading change initiatives, and standardizing processes for optimal service delivery.
- Leveraging your financial acumen, you manage regional supply chain finances by assisting with budgets, allocating resources, authorizing spending, and driving cost efficiency.
- You act as a regional supply chain advocate, collaborating across departments, actively listening to stakeholders, building relationships, and fostering teamwork to ensure smooth operations and strategic alignment.
Desired Education and Skills:
- Post-secondary level education from a recognized academic institution. Supply Chain certification is an asset.
- Experience in a regulated or unionized environment is desirable
- A minimum of 7 years of recent related supply chain management and leadership experience.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to interpret business needs and develop integrated, creative solutions.
- Must be results driven, able to create change and effectively manage and deliver results.
- Demonstrated effective leadership abilities, combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment, providing the necessary skills to manage effectively in a rapidly changing environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, being able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities within short timelines.
- Ability to support a team that is geographically dispersed throughout the region.

What you can expect
- This role will work at our Ottawa or Dartmouth operations site 100% of the time/5 days of the week.
- Frequent travel (on avg. 3 days/month) to regional CBS sites is required.
