About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Compliance Coordinator to join our dynamic Enterprise Facilities team.

 

The Compliance Coordinator, Facilities is responsible for coordinating security and compliance activities across Enterprise Facilities, with a focus on documentation integrity, audit readiness, access governance, fire and life safety compliance, and change control.  In this role, you will maintain controlled documentation, evidence, and records; coordinate audit remediation activities; and ensure that security-related processes align with regulatory expectations, corporate policies, and internal standards.

Formula for success

 

  • Drawing on your knowledge or experience in compliance management, you will support audit, compliance, and risk management activities, including quality events, corrective actions, security and radiation safety documentation, tracking and leadership reporting.
  • Utilizing your excellent documentation and records management skills, you will develop, manage, and maintain Enterprise Facilities and Security documentation under the Quality Management System, including controlled documents, access processes, governance records, and cross-functional coordination to ensure compliance, clarity, and regulatory alignment.
  • You will administer and track change control for security and Enterprise Facilities documentation, ensuring timely approvals, stakeholder coordination, Quality Management System compliance, and management reporting on status and cycle times.
  • Pulling from your knowledge of security and access control support, you will coordinate and monitor security access governance activities, including access reviews, documentation validation, standards compliance, cross-functional controls, and version control of Post Orders to ensure alignment with approved security and regulatory requirements.
  • You will coordinate fire and life safety audit activities, including inspections, fire drills, corrective action tracking, and maintenance of floor warden programs and training documentation in collaboration with Facilities and OHS partners.
  • You will manage and coordinate compliance-related training activities for Enterprise Facilities and Security, including training impact assessments, notification issuance, delivery coordination, completion tracking, record maintenance, and Training Manager delegate responsibilities under Quality Management System requirements.
  • Leveraging your excellent interpersonal skills, you will collaborate across Enterprise Facilities and corporate partners to support change initiatives, communicate impacts, encourage adoption, and continuously refine programs and materials based on stakeholder feedback.

     

Desired education and skills

 

  • Completion of post-secondary education or degree in Records Management, Facilities Management, Security Management, Health & Safety, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in healthcare, blood services, laboratory, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS), including document control, records management, audits, CAPAs, and change control.
  • Familiarity with security governance, access control systems (e.g., Lenel), access reviews, and security documentation.
  • Proven ability to track, report, and communicate compliance status, risks, and timelines to leadership.
  • Technical skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  Familiarity with eLearning authoring (e.g., basic video capture/editing, knowledge base tools, is an asset.
  • Demonstrated analysis, problem-solving, and attention to detail; able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Effective working with cross-functional teams; strong information gathering and active listening skills.

What you can expect

 

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/2 days of the week.
  • Shifts are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
  • Physical requirements - ability to lift weight up to 10 kg (22 lbs.).
