Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Coordinator, Research Services to join our dynamic Innovation & Portfolio Management team.
Reporting to the Manager, Research Services, the Coordinator, Research Services, provides administrative and coordinating support. The role involves assisting with the execution of research and training funding programs, providing the internal research community with comprehensive support services, gathering and analyzing data to meet program evaluation and reporting requirements, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships while supporting knowledge mobilization initiatives.
Formula for success
- Drawing on your knowledge or experience in research and administration, you will coordinate support for research services to internal researchers and funding programs, by performing administrative tasks such as maintaining funding programs database, monitoring, responding and actioning a shared email inbox, assisting with updates to research services manuals and prioritize tasks as needed.
- Leveraging your excellent customer service skills, you will maintain relationships with stakeholders and facilitate knowledge mobilization activities in support of research services. This includes coordinating meetings with funding partners, and internal and external stakeholders to build and sustain positive working relationships.
- You will gather progress report and compile data for each funding program.
- Utilizing your superior interpersonal and communication skills you will facilitate activities to support the engagement of research trainees and enhance their training in transfusion science.
- You will regularly requests documentation from internal and external departments to support various initiatives and ensures proper archiving of materials.
Desired education and skills
- Completion of secondary education. Bachelor's degree in life sciences or relevant field of study from a recognized academic institution.
- Minimum three (3) years research administration experience.
- Sound knowledge of the research funding landscape and guidelines governing research in Canada.
- Experience working in a health-research environment is an asset.
- Technical skills in a variety of computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Share Point and Teams.
- Scientific literacy is an asset: Familiarity with reading scientific literature, science communication, research ethics, and research funding structures.

- This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/days of the week.
- Shift/hours - Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week, 7.5 hours a day.
