Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate will be working at one of our Canadian Blood Services major site offices, with a strong preference for Ottawa (1800 Alta Vista Drive), Brampton (100 Parkshore Drive), Calgary (2775 116 Avenue NE), Vancouver (4750 Oak Street) or Dartmouth (270 John Savage Ave), and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

About The Role: 
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a temporary full-time Director, Process Management to join our dynamic Supply Chain division.  The work of a Director, Process Management is integral to Canadian Blood Services role as Canada’s biological lifeline. 
 
The Director of Supply Chain Process Management at Canadian Blood Services (CBS) plays a central role in ensuring that CBS delivers products that meet customer expectations while complying with all regulatory and quality standards. Working in close partnership with operations, this role supports the design and improvement of manufacturing processes to drive consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness across collections, production, and logistics, and leads a project portfolio designed to deliver organizational strategy. The Director collaborates to develop and implement robust processes, defining requirements for technology, assets, and workforce skills, and ensuring clear communication and understanding of these processes throughout the organization. In addition, the Director provides validation support to all CBS groups, promotes continuous improvement initiatives, and leads efforts to strengthen supply chain operations. Through this leadership, the Director helps uphold CBS’s reputation for trust and value to Canadians.

  • Manages financial, material, and informational resources while equipping employees with tools to achieve organizational objectives.

  • Displays the highest degree of personal integrity and professional ethics.

 
Desired education & skills: 

  • Completion of university degree in Process Engineering, Project Management or related field.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processing and process improvement methodologies and tools; Six Sigma designation is an asset (Green Belt or Black Belt).
  • Minimum ten years of related, progressive management experience at a senior level in process management, design and automation in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Management/administrative skills, with knowledge of and experience in management (theory and practice)   
  • Knowledge and experience of managing in a Biologics Manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • A strong understanding of supply chain systems and model, quality management systems and practices as well as project management methodology.
  • Excellent analytical, planning and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, influencing and negotiation.

What You Can Expect

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at one of our Canadian Blood Services major site offices located in Ottawa (1800 Alta Vista Drive), Brampton (100 Parkshore Drive), Calgary (2775 116 Avenue NE), Vancouver (4750 Oak Street) or Dartmouth (270 John Savage Ave) 40% of the time/2 days of the week.
  • This role will require travel for events, team meetings and project commitments.
