The successful candidate will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Facilities Brand Specialist to join our dynamic Integrated Marketing team. 

 

In this role, you will be responsible for translating brand strategy into physical environments, owning the development and implementation of scalable, flexible and cost-effective design solutions that reflect our identity across a variety of centre formats.

 

You will act as the organization's lead on branded environments, driving the design overlay for all new builds, renovations, centre optimizations and campaign activations.

Formula for success

  • Leveraging your excellent brand and design management skills, you will own the evolution of the branded donor centre blueprint across new builds, renovations, optimizations and mobile units, ensuring spaces reflect the brand identity and operational realities.
  • Drawing on your knowledge and experience in environmental and retail design, you will translate brand strategy into physical layouts, while also producing vendor-ready design files for signage and environmental graphics that meet technical specifications and uphold brand standards.
  • Utilizing your superior interpersonal and communication skills, you will serve as the brand design subject matter expert, providing creative direction and brand oversight throughout planning, design, and execution phases.
  • Leveraging your stakeholder management experience, you will act as the primary liaison between the brand team and internal Facilities, Construction, Real Estate, Operations, and Design teams, in addition to external vendors, to align timelines, budgets, and operational needs.
  • Drawing on your technical understanding of signage, materials and site conditions, you will oversee the implementation of branded touchpoints and lead collaborative design reviews to balance creative intent with functional requirements.
  • Utilizing your attention to detail and process orientation, you will maintain and evolve brand guidelines, toolkits, and documentation while continuously refining systems through stakeholder feedback and in-field evaluation.
  • Leveraging your strategic planning and problem solving skills, you will extend brand design thinking to existing centres by creating scalable, site-sensitive solutions and providing clear guidance to local facilities teams for consistent network-wide implementation.

Desired education and skills

  • Completion of Bachelor's degree in Environmental Design, Interior Design, Architectural Design or a related field.
  • Degree or specialized certification in Brand Experience and Retail Design is a strong asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental branding, retail or experiential design, or architectural branding roles.
  • Proven track record of leading brand environment design projects from concept through implementation across multiple formats (new builds, renovations, mobile units, campaign activations).
  • Proven ability to navigate complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and operational partners.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with architects, facilities, operations and construction partners.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships.
  • Strong proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to lead design reviews and align cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret business needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
  • Ability to stay current with retail and experiential branding trends and apply insights to evolve design approaches.
