Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate will be working at one of our major site offices with a preference for Ottawa (1800 Alta Vista Drive) or Toronto (67 College Street), and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Manager, Brand Governance to join our versatile Integrated Marketing team in our Donor Engagement and Corporate Reputation (DECR) division.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Brand and Creative, you will serve as a brand leader and steward, responsible for managing, protecting, and evolving the Canadian Blood Services brand to strengthen brand equity and impact. Your focus will be on brand engagement, identity, and protection, ensuring the brand is expressed creatively and consistently across all touchpoints. You will oversee brand governance, execution, and strategic application through education, development of tools and standards, and strategic partnerships and projects. Through collaboration and leadership, you will embed the brand into organizational culture, inspire employees and mobilize brand champions, safeguard brand integrity, and identify opportunities to build and evolve the brand.

- Harnessing your collaboration and consultative skills, you will act as the brand subject matter expert, providing guidance to internal teams, external agencies, and partners to resolve brand-related challenges and ensure proper application of brand standards, and identify opportunities to strengthen and build the brand.
- Leveraging your ability to translate brand identity into physical spaces, you will ensure cohesive, on-brand experiences across all facilities by guiding the application of brand elements and signage strategies to activate the brand and reinforce identity, consistency, and engagement.
- Tapping into your ability to operationalize brand standards, you will transform brand guidelines into practical applications by developing tools and governing corporate assets and resources to ensure consistent brand expression that strengthens adoption, fosters engagement, and supports advocacy.
- Applying your analytical skills, you will monitor and evaluate brand performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of brand initiatives and overall brand health, preparing insights and recommendations to strengthen brand equity and inform future strategies.
- Demonstrating adaptability, you will perform other related duties as required.
Desired education and skills
- Experience in corporate brand management is essential, with a focus on both internal and external audiences.
- University degree in marketing, communications, Business or other applicable areas of expertise (Brand focus is encouraged).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in brand management, communications (reputation management, internal/external communications), and/or Marketing.
- Exceptional knowledge and passion for brand strategies, brand management, and identity.
- Skilled at assessing creative and media messages to ensure they align with brand standards, while partnering with teams in a way that balances brand integrity with a strong customer focus.
- Demonstrated expertise in marketing and brand management across diverse channels, including digital, social, content, and experiential platforms.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with senior leadership and across functions.
- Exceptional communication skills—both written and spoken—with the ability to craft compelling stories and deliver engaging presentations.
- Proven track record in managing multifaceted projects with large budgets and strong project management skills.
- Strong skills in strategic thinking, tactical execution, financial analysis, and performance measurement.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

What you can expect
- This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location a minimum 40% of the time/2 days of the week.
- You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
- You may be required to travel a couple of times per year for this role, and as required.
