Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work from our Toronto or Ottawa office based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Project Associate to join our dynamic Strategic Alliances team in our Collections division. 

 

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Engagement, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting the organizational performance review, a large-scale, complex project. You will support information gathering, reporting, and analysis related to project activities, and provide project-related administration support to senior management. Working closely with functional business groups and a cross-functional project team, you will help ensure project objectives are delivered within established timelines and cost parameters.

 

Formula for success

  • Leveraging your collaboration skills, you will work with various stakeholders and Canadian Blood Services business lines at key stages of the project to support the achievement of objectives and deliverables.
  • Drawing on your information management and coordination skills, you will develop and maintain communication tools such as shared drives, and databases, to capture and organize input from stakeholders, related programs, and initiatives.
  • Harnessing your skills in written and visual communications, you will contribute to the development of project communications materials and, as required, support the creation of project resources.
  • Utilizing your skills in cross-functional engagement, you will participate in working groups to address organization-wide and cross-functional issues.
  • Leveraging your skills in project tracking and analysis, you will monitor overall project progress to ensure timelines, targets, expectations, and established parameters are met.
  • Applying your skills in relationship management and issue resolution, you will liaise with managers, leaders, and stakeholders to build strong partnerships, address issues as they arise, and provide regular status updates on project progress.

 

Desired education and skills

  • Post-secondary level education, preferably a university degree in a related field
  • A minimum of three years related experience in various project management roles
  • Proven experience successfully interacting and building credibility with senior managers and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of CBS business processes, regulatory environment, and project management principles and practices
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgement and understanding of when to seek direction
  • Ability to analyse complex problems, interpret business needs and develop integrated, creative solutions
  • Ability to develop accurate and detailed reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to contribute effectively in a team environment
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer software including Excel and PowerPoint.

What you can expect 

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/2 days of the week. 
  • You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
