Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Quality Assurance Associate to join our dynamic Quality Assurance team (if applicable) in [location].
In this role, you will be providing the organizational assurance that we meet safety, quality identity, purity, potency and accessibility requirements of our products and services.
You will utilize your knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), this includes Blood Regulations as defined by Health Canada, CSA Blood and Blood Component Standards as well as relevant Cell, Tissues and Organs (CTO) regulations and standards as well as the theory and application of quality systems elements to the products and services provided by Canadian Blood Services.
Formula for success
- Utilizing your knowledge in Quality Assurance, you will ensure compliance and quality by maintaining controlled processes and applying Quality Systems practices, including document management, validation, change control, audits, training, and corrective/preventive actions.
- Leveraging your excellent communication skills, you will educate staff as to "why" GMP, as defined by Canadian Blood Services Quality Management System, are necessary and how these ideologies apply to the activities Canadian Blood Services undertakes.
- Drawing from your analytical and problem-solving skills, you will monitor and enhance product and service quality by analyzing data, conducting root cause investigations, and tracking improvements.
- Pulling from your extensive experience in Quality Assurance, you will perform all work in accordance with the provisions of the Canadian Blood Services Corporate Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
Desired education and skills
- Completion of post-secondary school in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, or equivalent experience is required.
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment following GMP, and a minimum of 5 years' experience of Quality Management and Continuous Improvement.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards (Health Canada, CSA, AABB) and Quality Systems processes, including document control, validation, change management, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), auditing, training, and quality control.
- Technical skills in Quality Management systems and MS Office.

What you can expect
- This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/2 days of the week.
- You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week, 7.5 hours a day.
