Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time SAP HR/Payroll (Business Acceptance Analyst) to join our dynamic Talent Programs team.
The Payroll Services team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by overseeing the payroll process and partnering with internal teams to enhance the employee experience and ensure everyone is paid accurately and on time.
In this role, you will support the organization through overseeing the entire Requests For Change (RFC) process. You will partner with Business Owners, Employee Relations, and other Canadian Blood Services customers to make certain that the implementation of new or changing practices are accurate and representative of industry best practices and are both efficient and cost effective. You will conduct a thorough analysis and investigation of potential issues, prioritization of RFCs received, and gathering of business requirements, you will enable changes to the configuration of the HR Payroll ERP module of SAP to be brought forward to SAP HR, Pay, and Finance that represents the business need.
Formula for success
- Utilizing on your strong organizational skills and attention to detail, you will be responsible for on-going daily execution and management of changes to ERP SAP system configuration and internal processes resulting from operational functionality changes, break/fixes, and enhancements and ratifications of collective agreements, beginning with the initial request through submission to SAP HR, Pay and Finance for configuration.
- Leveraging your ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines, you will review all Request For Change and Business Tasks to scope for Payroll Services resources needed to complete testing within scheduled deadlines.
- Focusing on your ability to lead and work collaboratively, you will take the Lead role during Business Acceptance Testing; ensure that all results are as expected prior to giving final approval for changes to be moved to the Production environment.
- You will steward the RFC configuration changes and/or process changes from testing phase to implementation into the ERP environment of SAP.
- Using your strong analytical skills, you will perform in-depth analysis and subsequent changes to master data o ensure expected results in the production environment involving areas such as Quota Entitlements, Time Balance, and conversion data. Working closely with Productivity Applications (IT) to identify root cause and develop long term solutions to solve issues impacting specific groups of employees. Document proposals and processes involved and collaborate with Business Owner to determine implementation strategies.
- Drawing on your continuous growth mindset, you will Identify continuous improvement opportunities to increase efficiency, quality, and value to Payroll Services and internal clients, through changes in processes, policy, or use of technology.
- You will perform other related duties and participate in special projects as required.
Desired education and skills
- Completion of post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution.
- Minimum of 5 years related experience with the Finance/Payroll/HR Modules of SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Minimum of 5 years Human Resources, Time, or Payroll experience, in a highly unionized environment.
- Experience or formal training in complex data analysis, simplifying and communicating complex processes, facilitation, gathering, validation, and confirming business requirements definitely an asset.
- Experience or formal training in developing and leading system testing.
- You will have a solid understanding of Payroll regulations, Employment Labour Laws, Collective Agreements and Terms and Conditions of Employment.
- Technical skills including proficiency in MS Office (Power Point, Word, Project, and Excel).

What you can expect
- This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/ 2 days of the week.
- You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
- Travel requirements - travel to Ottawa for division retreat and training as required.
