Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site in Ottawa, Toronto or Brampton and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a regular full-time SAP Technical Systems Analyst to join our dynamic External Customer Experience team in our Digital Solutions and Technology division

 

The External Customer Experience team is responsible for day-to-day software application support and planning. This includes researching, analyzing, defining, recommending, developing/configuring, testing, implementing and supporting IT Business Solutions for Canadian Blood Services in collaboration with client groups and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the use and development of SAP CRM in Canadian Blood Services. This includes, supporting SAP CRM end users, using SAP information to conduct analysis and resolve user-related issues, modifying existing functionality and developing new capabilities.

  • Leveraging your demonstrated knowledge and expertise, you will evaluate requirements, determine recommended solutions and work with clients and SAP CRM functional teams to design, develop and execute SAP changes. 
  • Utilizing your effective interpersonal and communication skills, you will establish and maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with assigned client groups and others in the SAP organization.
  • Drawing on your continuous improvement mindset and innovative thinking, you will work with SAP CRM functional teams and clients to share knowledge and best practices regarding the design and use of SAP functionality, information and supporting processes. Define requirements for new functionality and identify new program initiatives or changes requiring SAP CRM development or enhancements.
  • Harnessing your excellent problem analysis, planning and organizational skills, you will investigate and stay informed about SAP and associated 3rd party solutions for the business and technical processes supported, including solutions deployed by other blood agencies and related industries.
  • Concentrating on your ability to translate user requirements to delivered solutions, you will assist in the development of business cases, user requirements, definitions and algorithms in collaboration with the client.
  • You will actively participate in on-going development, support and continuous improvement of the SAP CRM system and its technical landscape.  Key responsibilities include:
    • Assess level of ABAP development effort based on business requirements and requested changes.  
    • Perform ABAP/BSP development.
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SAP CRM issues, error messages, and system dumps.
    • Oversee the development and maintenance of SAP CRM Web Services to support business processes and customer interactions.
    • Assist with performance and run time improvements in existing programs.
    • Apply OSS note(s) when requested by SAP Functional Analyst.
    • Conduct SPAU and SPDD analysis for SAP Support Pack or Enhancement Pack implementations.
    • Complete necessary testing and documentation of changes.
    • Update or review information in Jira.

 

Desired education and skills

  • Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably a College Diploma or University Degree in Business or Computer Science.
  • 5 or more years of SAP experience, including 3 years of ABAP development experience. 
  • Experience working with the SAP CRM components (service/sales/marketing).
  • Experience using WEB UI, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, iDocs and CRM Actions.
  • Experience in UI5 development such as Fiori.
  • Experience with User exits, BADI’s and enhancement spots. 
  • Experience in webservice development using ODATA services. 
  • Experience with agile methodology. 
  • Effective interpersonal communication and writing skills in English.

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/ 2 days of the week.
  • If you are located outside of Ottawa, you may be expected to travel twice per year for team meetings, and as required.
