About the role
The integrated Marketing team at Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Temporary full-tme Specialist - Growth Marketing to join our dynamic and purpose-driven group within the Donor Engagement and Corporate Reputation division.
As a key member of the Integrated Marketing team, you play a key supporting role in the execution of foundational strategies that drive donor growth across Canadian Blood Services’ product lines. Reporting to the Manager, Growth Marketing, this role will provide product, market, and audience subject matter expertise for targeted growth initiative and contribute to the development and execution of marketing strategies to significantly expand a unified donor base that supports all product lines.
The Specialist will also be deeply involved in network-related work, including the integration of blood and plasma centers and the strategic support of new center openings.
Formula for success
- Support the development and execution of growth strategies to build a unified donor base.
- Gather and organize audience, market, and product insights.
- Develop subject matter expertise in either transfusion or transplantation to inform targeted marketing strategies and donor engagement efforts.
- Prepare strategic briefs and planning documents that guide campaign, activation and go-to-market execution.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., analytics, research, planning) to ensure timely access to data and insights.
- Lead the execution of marketing plans for network initiatives, including the integration of blood into plasma centers, plasma into blood centers, and the launch of new donor centers.
- Help track and document the performance of growth initiatives and contribute to reporting and optimization efforts.
- Support Marketing Manager and Marketing Lead with day-to-day operations.
- Ensure all work aligns with CBS’s purpose-driven brand and multi-product donor engagement strategy.
Desired education and skills
- Post-secondary education in Marketing or relevant experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in marketing strategy, campaign development, or integrated communications.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Critical thinker, data-savvy, and a team player.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams.
- Experience in audience and market segmentation and using data and insights to build marketing strategies.
- Willingness to develop deep knowledge in a specific product area (transfusion or transplantation).
- Experience leading cross-functional marketing initiatives and collaborating with diverse teams.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and navigate through ambiguity.
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering results.

What you can expect
- This is a hybrid role, requiring onsite presence at a Canadian Blood Services location 2 days per week (40%).
- Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
- If located outside Ottawa, you may be required to travel to our head office (1800 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa) quarterly for in-person team meetings.
