Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary Full-time Specialist - Quality Management Process Support to join our dynamic Quality Management System team. 


The Quality Management System team leads the advancement and continuous improvement of our quality management system. They support the organization by delivering effective, efficient, and timely services, along with expert guidance on quality and regulatory matters.

 

Reporting to the Manager, Quality Management Processes, you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the quality management system, as well as other processes owned by the Quality and Regulatory Affairs team.

 

Formula for success

  • Leveraging your skills in quality management and process improvement, you will support the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the quality management system and other Quality and Regulatory Affairs processes.
  • Drawing on your ability to assess operational needs and manage deliverables, you will identify process requirements, resources, and activities necessary to produce work instructions, forms, training materials, presentations, risk analyses, or other key deliverables.
  • Using your strong facilitation and communication skills, you will lead effective meetings by preparing agendas, engaging relevant stakeholders, and clarifying expected outcomes to achieve deliverables.
  • Leveraging your collaboration and documentation expertise, you will work with process designers, owners, and instructional designers to ensure controlled process documents and training materials accurately reflect requirements and meet user needs.
  • Applying your analytical mindset and commitment to quality, you will monitor process feedback, liaise with users and designers, and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Drawing on your subject matter expertise and critical thinking skills, you will research, analyze, and present information to support decision-making, contribute to working teams, and develop integrated, creative solutions that promote continuous improvement.
  • Applying your attention to detail and knowledge of regulatory compliance, you will ensure all controlled process documentation aligns with Canadian Blood Services’ quality management system and applicable regulatory requirements.

 

Desired education and skills

  • Post-secondary education, preferably a university degree in a related field, combined with a minimum of four years of experience implementing quality management systems and quality and regulatory affairs processes.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and credibility with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research, interpret business needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare accurate, concise, and well-structured reports, documents, and presentations.
  • Highly organized with advanced planning skills; able to work independently using sound judgment to determine when to seek direction or escalate issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint, and SuccessFactors (reporting capabilities); working knowledge of MS Project and Visio is considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to travel as required.
