About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Specialist - Tissue to join our dynamic Organ & Tissue Donation & Transplant team.

 

As the national coordinating agency for the Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation (OTDT) health care services in Canada, Canadian Blood Services' OTDT program collaborates with partners and stakeholders to develop and strengthen the foundational elements that contribute to high-performing OTDT system and to develop, operate and evolve the registries through which Canadian Blood Services' supports the sharing of solid organs-for-transplant within and across provincial boundaries.

 In this role, you will execute, and lead activities related to the tissue donation and transplantation workstream within Canadian Blood Services. This role also executes and leads activities related to Canadian Blood Services' role as national coordinating agency for OTDT.

Formula for success

 

  • Leveraging your excellent leadership skills, you will execute, and lead activities related to the tissue donation and transplantation workstream of Canadian Blood Services.
  • Utilizing your superior interpersonal and communication skills you will ensure that the activities and decisions of the OTDT program and Canadian Blood Services are well-understood by senior leaders, executives and stakeholders (internal and external).
  • You will prepare documents and reports to support tissue donation and transplantation system and related engagement activities.
     

Desired education and skills

 

  • Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant discipline form a recognized academic institution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience contributing to the planning and execution of high-profile meetings for senior leaders and executives, including the development of briefing notes, reports, position papers, and other documents to support system-level priority setting and decision-making.
  • Experience in OTDT and/or tissue banking is an asset.
  • Strong leadership experience with a history of managing project timelines, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Excellent writing skills, including ability to write and develop accurate and concise documents with attention to detail.
  • Presentation skills, including ability to deliver presentations and information sessions to senior leaders and executives.
  • Excellent record keeping, time management, and organizational skills, and ability to train and support colleagues and stakeholders on procedures and best practice.
  • Experience in health care or a regulated environment an asset.

What you can expect

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/days of the week.
  • Work hours are Monday to Friday, 37.50 hours per week, 7.50 hours per day.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training and team building purposes.
