About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Student - Expeditor, Materials Management to join our dynamic Procurement team.
In this role, you will provide administrative support to the Procurement department. You will be responsible for monitoring departmental activities by assisting with tracking of contracts and reporting on deliverables, maintaining schedules and producing status reports.
Formula for success
- Working with staff to implement cost saving and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Owndership of our material and vendor criticality assessment process.
- Monitor and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders as it pertains to back orders and future deliveries.
- Coordinate with receiving teams to ensure accurate and timely goods. This includes ensuring necessary documentation is obtained, as needed (CoA's, Packing slips).
- Support transaction processing in SAP ECC.
- Act as a key point of contract between procurement, vendors, and internal departments.
- Expedite critical orders and escalate risks impacting operations.
- Master data updates within an ERP system (SAP).
- Running reports and basic data manipulation to suggest decision points.
Desired education and skills
- Must be enrolled in a Supply Chain Management program, or other related business-related program.
- Must have excellent teambuilding, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Key Supply Chain concepts; Procurement, material management, inventory management, forecasting.
- Excellent organization, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Superior analytical skills and advanced knowledge of spreadsheets.
- Experienced in Microsoft office tools including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience in SharePoint, particularly as it pertains to creating forms and lists, would be considered an asset.
