About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Scheduler/Timekeeper to join our dynamic Collections Operations West team.
The Collections Operations West team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by collecting donor blood in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and creating work schedules and completing associated scheduling and timekeeping functions that meet operational needs. These functions will be performed in accordance with Canadian Blood Services policies.
Formula for success
- Assess and plan staffing requirements in consultation with Manager/Supervisors to meet operational needs.
- Prepare/create/revise work schedules according to Collective Agreement requirements.
- Responsible for replacing staff sick calls and creating and maintaining department-specific vacation calendars.
- Performs timekeeping/payroll functions for all Supply Chain employees.
- Maintains accurate records
- Performs other activities as required.
Desired education and skills
- Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution.
- A minimum of three years of scheduling experience in related position, preferably in a regulated environment.
- Strong computer skills using Word and Excel, and a strong working knowledge of personal computers with a preference given to experience with a Windows operating system and Microsoft Outlook. Testing on Excel skills will be conducted.
- Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze information with a high degree of deductive reasoning.
- Essential to your success are your excellent communication (written and verbal), customer service and interpersonal skills, as are your superior organizational skills and your ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintaining confidentiality of employee information is critical.
- Previous experience with SAP is an asset.
- Accuracy with attention to detail.

- Hours of operation for this role are Monday to Friday, 0700 - 1500
- This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/days of the week.
