About the role
We’re seeking a Regular Part-Time Information Nurse to join our team (approximate start date 2022-11-07).


Responsibilities include:   
•    Communication with internal and external customers
•    Determine urgency of call back ensuring accurate information is provided in a timely fashion in response to donor/caller inquiries/complaints related to the blood program
•    Ask detailed questions of the caller regarding medical conditions, medications, medical history and travel history to determine their eligibility
•    Respond to reactions or incidents by verbally assessing condition and providing the caller with appropriate information
•    Complete required documentation associated with the donor and update donor file/database
•    Maintain competency and continue professional growth
•    Attend staff meetings and participate in department in-services, training and educational programs
•    Deliver customer service excellence
•    Schedule appointments for eligible blood donors to meet collection requirements
•    Special projects and initiatives
Required Skills:
•    Post-secondary education in Nursing Science
•    Licensure with the College of Nurses of Ontario is required
•    1-2 years of nursing experience
•    Advanced oral and written communication skills in English
•    Bilingualism (French) is strongly preferred 
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in reactive, time-sensitive situations are required
•    Requires advanced technical competency in computer software 
•    Willingness and ability to work in a complex, adaptive environment
•    Strong attention to details and interpersonal skills 
•    Flexibility with regards to work hours and shift assignments
•    Competitive salary wage ($33.23-$47.57; credit for experience must be documented)
