Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a regular full-time Lead - Regional Marketing to join our versatile Integrated Marketing team.


The Integrated Marketing team is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive, integrated marketing strategies aimed at building Canadian Blood Services’ brand, expanding our donor base, and enhancing donor loyalty.


In this newly created role, reporting to the Associate Director, Marketing Strategy & Activation, the Lead, Regional Marketing is responsible for leading key marketing requirements and for executing against the corporate strategy. The Lead is responsible for developing strategies, programs, plans and services that supports the execution of Canadian Blood Services’ business goals as well as becoming brand ambassadors for the organization. The Lead provides strategic direction on the development of approaches and tactical plans to deliver on marketing objectives, incorporating various platforms/channels, advises leadership on marketing challenges and leads the development of the marketing strategy for specific business objectives, while ensuring accuracy and consistency of messages across the organization.


The specific focus of this role is to manage the regional execution of national marketing strategies. The role involves collaborating with regional teams to understand market needs, opportunities and unique challenges to solve against, while coordinating campaigns, monitoring performance, and addressing regional and local considerations to meet the objectives of the national marketing strategy.

 

Formula for success

  • Utilizing your skills in strategic planning, you will work to develop regional marketing strategies and plans that align with and support our corporate strategy, integrate with national Go To Market plans and strategies, and that are based on data-driven performance understanding.
  • Applying your expertise in market analysis, you will work to understand hyper-local market needs, opportunities, and unique challenges to solve against.
  • Harnessing your leadership abilities, you will lead hyper-local campaign and program efforts, while monitoring regional monitoring performance.
  • Leveraging your skills in creative collaboration, you will provide advice and support to external and internal creative partners/agencies on the development and execution of approaches and tactics to deliver objectives of marketing strategies.
  • Drawing on your experience in analytics, you will work with external and internal creative resources, analytics, and performance team to make sure the strategy, creative, and messaging is compelling and driven by insights – audience, contextual, market, etc., to ensure campaigns are developed and deployed smoothly, and are optimized.
  • Building on your relationship management skills, you will build effective working relationships within the organization and promote ability and flexibility within the marketing team by easily stepping into other roles as required.


Desired education and skills

  • Post-secondary degree in Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience; including, marketing, market segmentation, business, advertising, and communications.
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing strategy and campaign management and demonstrated experience executing national campaigns at a regional level.
  • Demonstrated experience crafting insight driven creative briefs and managing external creative agency partners.
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation of marketing plans, analyzing and reporting on outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining effective relationships with vendors, clients, senior leaders in an integrated marketing capacity.

What you can expect 

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/2 days of the week. 
  • You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.  
  • You may be expected to travel across Canada for team meetings or events.
