The successful candidate will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 60% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances. Training will be completed 100% in-person, on-site.

About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular Full-Time Program Clerk to join our dynamic Collections team in Vancouver.
The Collections team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by collecting donor blood in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day. In this role, you will assist in the collection of blood and blood products by adhering to all safety protocols and ensuring that all required documentation is carried out. You will play an integral part in building and promoting a positive donor experience and encouraging donations.
Formula for success
• Utilizing your superb organization skills, you will maintain and update controlled document binders, as well as maintain and update training records by tracking professional certification dates.
• Drawing on your experience and administrative skills, you will set up and maintain staff training schedules, take minutes for meetings, and assist with preparing information packages for promotions of the program.
• With your excellent interpersonal skills, you will provide clerical support to department trainers, and assist in New Employee Orientation.
• Drawing on your ability to be detail-oriented, you will prepare and distribute training materials while ensuring return for compliance; you will also use your attention to detail to verify donor donation history using eProgesa and process post donation clinic forms.
Desired education and skills
• Completion of grade 12 with two years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to type at 45 words per minute with advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to operate related equipment.

What you can expect
• Works Monday to Friday: 0800-1600. Rest days are Saturday and Sunday.
