About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Supply Technician to join our dynamic Supply Chain Operations West team in BC-Vancouver-Oak St

 

The Supply Chain Operations West team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by procuring inventory and services, you will monitor inventory quantity levels and work in conjunction with the shipper/receiver as well as various other departments within CBS. You will be the site contact for Head Office Procurement.

  • Leveraging your experience in purchasing and inventory coordination, you will ensure materials and services are ordered accurately, delivered on time, and meet quality and cost expectations.
  • Drawing on your attention to detail and problem‑solving skills, you will identify and resolve issues such as backorders, damaged goods, or discrepancies, helping keep operations running smoothly.
  • Utilizing your understanding of inventory control practices, you will maintain appropriate stock levels, reduce waste, and support efficient warehouse operations.Using your ability to analyze data and work with inventory systems, you will review inventory levels, investigate variances, and help ensure records are accurate and up to date.
  • Applying your strong organizational and administrative skills, you will manage documentation, schedules, and reports that support logistics and warehouse teams.
  • Relying on your collaborative and customer‑focused approach, you will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to meet shared goals and service needs.

Desired education and skills

 

  • Grade 12, supplemented by accounting courses plus three year’s recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience supporting purchasing, inventory, warehouse, logistics, or administrative functions, gained through work, internships, volunteer roles, or transferable experience from other industries.
  • Comfort working with computer‑based ordering or inventory systems, including data entry, record maintenance, and reviewing basic reports.
  • Strong organizational and attention‑to‑detail skills, allowing you to manage multiple tasks, track information accurately, and meet deadlines.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with colleagues, service providers, and internal customers.
  • Ability to safely perform physical tasks related to warehouse and logistics work, such as handling materials and moving inventory, with training and support provided.

  • Shifts are currently Monday to Friday 0700 - 1500. Saturday and Sunday are rest days.
